ADC staff attended the Workshop on Mapping and Assessing University-based Farmer Extension Services in ASEAN

On May 16, 2017, ADC staff participated in the workshop named “Mapping and Assessing University-based Farmer Extension Services in ASEAN through an Agro-ecological lens: Vietnam case”.

The workshop was co-organized by the CARES - Center for Agricultural Research and Ecological Studies, Hanoi University of Agriculture and Chula University, Thailand in Hanoi. Participating in the workshop were representatives of agricultural universities, institutes and research centers including Can Tho University, Tien Giang University, Vinh University, Hue Agriculture and Forestry University, Forestry University , Northern mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (NOMAFSI), and the ADC. International delegates include representatives from CIAT and UNESCO. Participants of the workshop shared their experience on extension services provided by their units in the context of globalization associated with ecological agriculture.

ADC was the only representative of VNGOs at the workshop to share its experience in working with ethnic minorities and providing best extension services for ethnic minorities in the mountainous region of northern Vietnam with a presentation on "Extension Services for Ethnic Minority People in the Northern mountainous region of Vietnam".
