The pilot survey on the production of tea in Thai Nguyen province

From 7th to 17th March 2017, staff of ADC participated in the pilot survey on tea production in Thai Nguyen province. This is a research activity within the cooperation project between Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and Hiroshima University, Japan.

The research was piloted in 7 communes of Thai Nguyen province, with two main objectives. The first is to evaluate the impacts of tea farmer cooperatives on farm profit and productivity. The second is to estimate the correlations between risk preference, time preference, and cooperative membership in tea farmer cooperatives.

With the support of the ADC staff, the survey was completed successfully, in line with the content and plan of the research. Furthermore, this is also an opportunity for ADC staff to demonstrate and improve their capacity and experience in agricultural research and development, and to learn and improve their experience in working with farmers and local authorities.
