Training workshop "Raising Awareness of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement VPA/FLEGT and Forest Stewardship Council Certification FSC"

From 7th September to 8th September, 2016, the staff representative of ADC joined a training course on "Raising awareness of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA / FLEGT) and Forest Stewardship Council Certification (FSC) by WWF Vietnam held in Quang Tri province. Training courses with the participation of representatives from WWF Vietnam, NGOs Vietnam and Quang Tri, Kon Tum and Gia Lai provincial officials.

Through the training, the participants were fully aware of the content related to the VPA / FLEGT, FSC and the updated process of VPA / FLEGT between Vietnam and the EU. In addition, the training has also opened up opportunities for cooperation amongst non-governmental organizations in Vietnam in the process of community support to meet standards and regulations in accordance with legal timber VPA/FLEGT and FSC in the future.

At the workshop, the representative of the ADC had also shared the fact related to the ability to meet the VPA/FLEGT and FSC in Vietnam through specific research in the province. Since then, the discussion also made some interventions with the participation of CSOs in the process of negotiating and implementing agreements VPA / FLEGT in Vietnam henceforward.
