The Working Visit of the CARE International in Vietnam to the Agriculture and Forestry Research & Development Center for mountainous region (ADC)

From 21st to 22nd June 2016, the representatives of CARE International in Vietnam had visited and worked with ADC. Welcoming the representatives was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dien - the Director of ADC, and all the ADC’s staffs.

This was one of working visits of CARE International in Vietnam to ADC for periodic evaluation with purposes of: i) Visiting ADC; ii) Auditing Financial Statements for ADC; iii) Visiting project area and meeting with local government and some core members of interest based groups in Thanh Van and Mai Lap communes as well as building a project development plan in the period from 2016 to 2017.

The representatives of CARE had highly appreciated for the number of issues: i) the financial statement of the organization, following the regulations and standards; ii) the capacity of staffs in the field of community support, the result of the cooperation in the past and making objective and honest assessments, and prospects of cooperation with partners, donors in the future, especially the promotion of the achievements in the field of supporting ethnic minority communities to cope with climate change and sustainable development.

The delegation had also visited the projects supported by the ADC in Bac Kan province and met with local authorities, community and visit the typical livelihood models in the community that the Center is supporting. The delegation praised the organization of the project implementation, effectiveness and positive impact of the project on poverty reduction, rights and voice of minority women in planning the locally socio-economic development.
