Researching on baseline in Hoa Binh province about: "Assessing the complying capacity of legal timber definition (LD) of the community to serve the independent monitoring of FLEGT/VPA progress"

In the time period from 20th to 31st August 2015, ADC collaborated with the Northwest Cooperation Development Center (NWD) to conduct a baseline study on "capacity in complying of legal timber definition (LD) in Hoa Binh province". Activities included  in the project: "Promoting FLEGT program in Southeast Asia through the active participation of the CSOs implemented by VNGO-FLEGT networks.

The research has conducted a survey on compliance capability of the LD of 100 planting- exploiting and processing timber households in 06 communes in Ky Son and two Da Bac district, Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh province to provide information about the ability to meet the legal regulations on exploiting, processing wood in the local areas. The research had shown two outstanding and existing issues of the forest planting-exploiting group and wood processing group, as the basis for proposing solutions to meet legal regulations on legal timber in Vietnam. The report of the research will be presented at the General Directorate of Forestry in 9th January 2015.

Through this study, once again, ADC had shown the role as a center with high experience in the field of forestry to the member of the network and partner organizations, as a basin for the development in cooperating with the national and international organizations, networks in the up-coming time.
