The Evaluation Committee for the grassroots level Acceptance Test for the preservation of Sa Moc dau gene sources

On January 5, 2018, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry organized the grassroots level acceptance test for the task of "Exploiting and developing Sa moc dau gene in Ha Giang province". The chairman of the evaluation committee is Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Hung. The mission is headed by Dr. Ho Ngoc Son, Deputy Dean of Forestry Faculty; Deputy Director of the Agriculture and Forestry Research and Development Center for Mountainous Region (ADC), which was implemented from 2014-2017 in Ha Giang Province under the Genetic Resources Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Sa moc dau (Cunninghamia konishii Hayata), also known as Ngoc am or Sa Mu dau, is a rare species endangered with conservation priority under Decree 160/2013 / ND-CP dated November 12, 2013. The results of the mission have contributed to preserving Sa moc dau gene through the selection and recognition of 30 mother trees, building 01 ha of breeding forests, 03 ha of concentrated forests and 1000 scattered trees (02 ha) , 02 technical guidelines, 01 seedling standard, 01 master's degree training, 01 doctoral training, 07 articles in specialized journals. After evaluating the report and the products, the Committee agreed that the task was completed well compared with the registration contract. The mission has created a premise for the development of conservation projects for the development of genetic resources in the future.
