Main objectives:
Early career researchers, farmers, government officials, and policymakers will increase their capacity to promote nature-based solutions for food security and climate change resilience in Vietnam.
This aim will be realized through the following objectives:
1. To increase the capacity of farmers and resource managers in identifying and applying nature-based approaches and practices on their farms.
2. To increase the capacity of early career researchers, young female researchers, students, and CSO practitioners in the Northern Mountainous Region in conducting research and applying nature-based principles and practices.
3. To increase the capacity of policymakers and government officials on the framework of NbS for scale-up at different levels.
4. To integrate the NbS framework into the curriculum of the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) with a focus on training subsequent generations of NbS practitioners and leaders
Expected outcomes:
The outcomes of this project include the following:
Outcome 1: Increased capacity of farmers and resource managers to apply nature-based approaches to food
production and climate change adaptation practices.
Outcome 2: Increased capacity of early career researchers, students, and CSO practitioners in the Northern Mountainous Region of Vietnam in research and practices of nature-based approaches.
Outcome 3: Government officials and policymakers are supportive of NbS to increase climate change resilience and improve food security.
Outcome 4: The knowledge, skills, and interest of undergraduate and graduate students of the TUAF toward the NbS approaches will be increased.
