The Agroecology Learning alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA) is supported and coordinated at the national and regional levels by GRET. ALiSEA’s goal is to enable local and regional agroecology stakeholders to leverage one another’s expertise to produce evidence-based studies and share them broadly to support a regional transition towards agroecology.
ALiSEA is a regional platform that emerged during the ACTAE project toward an agroecological transition in South East Asia (2015-2019 founded by AFD and coordinated by CIRAD).
ADC is one of the members of ALiSEA. From 01-02 March 2017, Mr. Pierre Ferrand and Ms. Claire Georges from The Agroecology Learning alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA), GRET had a working visit to the ADC.
This working visit was in the framework of The Agroecology Learning alliance in South East Asia with the purpose: To discuss with ADC the construction of the action plan for the project "Promotion of indigenous knowledge-based climate change resilient and organic farming practices in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam", visit the livelihood models adapting to climate change and meet the local authorities as well as core members of interest groups in Thanh Van and Mai Lap communes, Cho Moi District, Bac Kan province.
In 2017, ADC received a grant of 12,000 USD to implement the project: Promotion of indigenous knowledge-based climate change resilient and organic farming practices in the northern region of Vietnam. The aims are to enhance awareness, understanding, and knowledge of indigenous-based climate change resilient livelihoods and sustainable farming practices for local communities especially women communities, and civil society organizations (NorthNet members), local government staff; and to promote the application of those sustainable farming practices in the NorthNet’s member organization's working provinces (Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, and Hoa Binh).
