In January 2018, ADC has conducted a field research on indigenous knowledge in Thanh Van and Mai Lap communes, Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province. ADC has focused on two major ethnic groups: Tay and Dao, with a desire to find indigenous knowledge of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas that have been used to adapt to the changing climate which becomes increasingly harsh.
Through this survey, the indigenous or traditional knowledge of people here are being altered due to many factors. Consequently, the conservation and study of indigenous knowledge is imperative.
This activity is part of the project "Using Indigenous Knowledge to Enhance Community Resilience to Climate Change in Mountainous region of Vietnam" by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change (APN).
